Octools : um agregador de redes sociais

Abstract

Com a popularização da Internet, e o crescente número de redes sociais online disponíveis neste meio, é natural que os usuários acabem tendo contas em diversas delas. O gerenciamento de tais contas acaba se tornando uma tarefa trabalhosa, dada a necessidade de acesso a diferentes ambientes para realizá-la. Outro problema que surge com a proliferação das redes sociais online é a dispersão do conteúdo criado por um usuário nesses vários ambientes. Para solucionar ambos os problemas, surgiram dois novos tipos de aplicações: os agregadores de redes sociais online e os mashups. Assim, este trabalho propõe o projeto de um sistema que una características desses dois novos tipos de aplicações, a fim de unificar o ambiente para o gerenciamento e visualização do conteúdo gerado por um mesmo usuário em diferentes redes sociais. Para isso, foi feita uma análise das principais funcionalidades de algumas das mais populares redes sociais no momento, assim como de alguns serviços de mashup e agregadores de redes sociais. O texto aborda ainda todos os elementos presentes no decorrer do projeto, desde o planejamento inicial até os detalhes finais da implementação de um protótipo.

With the Internet popularization and the growing number of online social networks available in this environment, it is natural that users end up having accounts in many of them. The management of such accounts becomes a laborious task, given the need to access different environments to do it. Another problem that arises from the proliferation of online social networking is the dispersal of content created by a user in these different environments. To solve both problems, two new types of applications have emerged: online social network aggregators and mashups. Therefore, this paper proposes the project of a system that unites the characteristics of these two new types of applications, in order to unify the environment to the management and viewing of the content created by the same user in different social networks. To do that, an analysis of the main features of some of the most popular social networks of the moment was done, as well as some mashup services and social networking aggregators. The text also addresses all the present elements during the project, from the initial planning to the final details of the prototype implementation.
