Focalizando antagonistas secundários : o impacto de adaptações cinematográficas sobre fanfictions de Harry Potter no polissistema brasileiro

Abstract

O presente trabalho se insere no projeto de pesquisa O Impacto de Adaptações Cinematográficas em Polissistemas Literários, que tem por objetivo demonstrar a relevância e o impacto de adaptações sobre os polissistemas culturais e literários (Even- Zohar, 2010). Partindo de uma abordagem dos fenômenos adaptativos como essencialmente tradutórios e, nesse sentido, análogos à própria compreensão (Steiner, 1975), a pesquisa destaca a interdependência e interpenetração de textos em diferentes linguagens. Demonstra-se, assim, que a natureza dos polissistemas literários é intrinsicamente convergente e transmidiática (Jenkins, 2006). Amparado parcialmente pelo mesmo suporte teórico e acrescentando referencial concernente à literatura derivativa, este subprojeto de pesquisa em tem como objeto de análise fanfictions em português da saga Harry Potter, escrita pela autora britânica J.K. Rowling e publicada na Inglaterra entre 1997 e 2007. Nesta pesquisa, são analisadas fanfictions nas quais fãs-autores dão voz a outros personagens, mudando o foco narrativo e a percepção que temos deles. Considerando o polissistema cultural e literário brasileiro como contexto de produção, os principais objetivos do trabalho apresentado nesse artigo são fazer um breve mapeamento do fenômeno fanfiction no Brasil e investigar as relações entre os romances da série e suas adaptações cinematográficas, notadamente a influência destas na caracterização dos personagens secundários Draco Malfoy e Severo Snape nos textos produzidos por fãsautores, que têm liberdade para criar e alterar o universo canônico (Pugh, 2005) do texto fonte.

The present work is part of the research project The Impact of Film Adaptations in Literary Polysystems, which aims to demonstrate the relevance and impact of adaptations on cultural and literary polysystems (Even-Zohar, 2010). Stemming from an approach to the adaptive phenomena as essentially translational and, in this sense, similar to comprehension itself (Steiner, 1975), the research highlights the interdependence and interpenetration of texts of different natures and codes. As a result, is the research demonstrates that the nature of literary polysystems is intrinsically convergent and transmedia (Jenkins, 2006). Partially supported by the same theoretical support and adding references concerning derivative literature, this research subproject analyzes fanfictions written in Portuguese following the Harry Potter saga, written by the British author J.K. Rowling and published in the United Kingdom between 1997 and 2007. The research has analyzed fanfictions in which fan-authors give voice to peripheral characters, switching narrative focus and the readers’ perception of such characters. Considering the Brazilian cultural and literary polysystem as production context, the main goals presented in this article are to briefly map out the fanfiction phenomenon in Brazil, and to investigate the relations between the novels of the series and their film adaptations, especially their influence on texts produced by fan-authors, who have freedom to create and to alter the canonic universe (Pugh, 2005) of the source text.
