Vulnerabilidade no viver de crianças com AIDS

Abstract

Este artigo tem por objetivo refletir acerca de alguns aspectos da vulnerabilidade (individual, social e programática) presentes no viver de crianças com Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida (AIDS). Para tanto, considerou-se a infância um momento importante na existência do ser humano e uma etapa em que a criança vivencia vulnerabilidades específicas no processo de viver. Essas vulnerabilidades tornam-se mais evidentes quando as crianças experienciam o estar doente, destacando-se aquelas que vivem, desde o nascimento, com o HIV/AIDS. Portanto, refletiu-se sobre alguns aspectos que são interdependentes e inter-relacionais entre os planos individual, coletivo e programático que constituem o viver das crianças que têm AIDS, no sentido de contribuir com os debates e discussões no campo teórico e prático da vulnerabilidade.

This article sheds light onto vulnerability as identified on three fronts (individual, social and pragmatic) of the living of children with Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). To that purpose, childhood was regarded both as an important moment in the existence of the human being and as a phase when the child has to cope with specific vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities become more pointed when children experience illness, especially those who have lived with HIV/AIDS since their birth. Therefore, in order to add to the discussions on vulnerability within theoretical and practical fields we have focused on interdependent and inter-relational aspects permeating the individual, collective and pragmatic spheres which shape the living of children who have AIDS.
