Perfil do professor de educação física em grupos de idosos : perspectivas para atuação

Abstract

O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar o perfil do professor de Educação Física que atua em grupos de idosos vinculados à Prefeitura Municipal de Porto Alegre. O estudo foi caracterizado como descritivo e a amostra foi composta por 34 professores . O instrumento foi um questionário com perguntas fechadas e abertas. Utilizou-se a análise descritiva nas perguntas fechadas e categorias temáticas nas perguntas abertas. As respostas foram analisadas a partir de duas dimensões. Na primeira dimensão ‘perfil do professor de Educação Física‘, o maior percentual de respostas quanto a formação: licenciatura plena em Educação Física na UFRGS, tempo de formação acima de 21 anos; sem pós-graduação com idosos; sem experiência com pesquisa, extensão e ensino na graduação. Quanto a atualização: maioria realiza através de cursos, palestras, seminários e congressos. Quanto ao tempo de atuação no grupo: maioria inferior a 10 anos e atuam com outras faixas etárias. Quanto ao tipo de atividades nos grupos: ginástica, alongamento e caminha/corrida orientada. Na segunda dimensão ‗trabalho com o público idoso‘, as categorias dos motivos que conduziram ao trabalho com o público foram: interesse do professor pelo público, demanda da prefeitura, demanda do público, identificação com as atividades propostas e oportunidade e/ou convite. Quanto as perspectivas foram: campo de atuação e objetivos do trabalho com o público idoso. Quanto as competências e habilidades: traços da personalidade, conhecimento teórico sobre envelhecimento, conhecimento teórico das atividades e identificação das diferenças. O entendimento do perfil do professor de Educação Física é relevante, afim de, buscar uma melhor maneira de intervenção com o público idoso.

The aim of this study was to analyze the profile of physical education teacher who works in elderly groups linked to the Prefecture of Porto Alegre. The study was characterized as descriptive and the sample consisted of 34 teachers. The instrument was a questionnaire with closed and opened questions. Was used descriptive analysis in the closed questions and thematic categories in the opened. Answers were analyzed from two dimensions. In the first dimension 'Profile of Physical Education teacher', the highest percentage of answers regarding the formation: licenciate in Physical Education at UFRGS, formation time over 21 years; without graduate with elderly; no experience with research, extension and teaching in the graduation. Regarding the update: the most realize through courses, lectures, seminars and conferences. Regarding the time of working in the group: most less than 10 years and work with other age groups. Regarding the type of activities in groups: exercise, stretching and walk / race oriented. In the second dimension 'work with the elderly public', the categories of the reasons that led to work with the public were: interest of teacher by the public, demand of prefecture, the public demand, identification with the opportunity and proposed activities and / or invitation. Regarding the perspectives were: acting area and goals of working with elderly public.Regarding the skills and abilities: personality traits, theoretical knowledge about aging, theoretical knowledge of the activities and identification of differences. The understanding of the physical education teacher Profile is relevant in order to, find a better way of intervention with elderly public.
