Aiton (12,36%), Lagerstroemia indica L. (10,08%), Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L. (7,03%), Syagrus romanzoffiana (Cham.) Glassman (6,84%), Peltophorum dubium (Spreng.) Taub.(5,89%) e Schinus terebinthifolia Raddi (5,70%).
This study presents a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of arboreal and shrubby species of plants of an urban area in the Brazilian municipality of Tapes, in Rio Grande do Sul state. 35 blocks of the central urban region were selected, and all individuals being at least 1.30 meters tall (above ground) were tested. The fitogeographical origin of each species was determined. 526 individuals were tested, which are divided into 75 species: 54 exotic, 16 native of Rio Grande do Sul state and 5 native of Brazil, divided into 33 families. For each individual, the diameter at breast height (1.30 meters above ground), the crown height and longest spread, and the shaft height were estimated; the individuals were also evaluated concerning the phytosanitary situation, the presence of epiphytes, the presence of hemiparasitic plants, the level of hemiparasitic infestation, the presence of roots lifting the paving and the interference of the crown. The most numerous species were Ligustrum lucidum W.T. Aiton (12.36%), Lagerstroemia indica L. (10.08%), Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L. (7.03%), Syagrus romanzoffiana (Cham.) Glassman (6.84%), Peltophorum dubium (Spreng.) Taub. (5.89%) and Schinus terebinthifolia Raddi (5.70%). The Ligustrum lucidum and the Lagerstroemia indica species exceeded the 10% recommended limit. The study concludes that there is less usage of native species.en
