Estudo sobre as condições de armazenamento das obras raras da Biblioteca do Tribunal de Justiça do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

A Biblioteca Especializada tem a função de amparar as necessidades informacionais das instituições mantenedoras. A Biblioteca do Tribunal de Justiça do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul dispõe materiais bibliográficos na área das Ciências Jurídicas, disponibilizando um acervo exclusivo na área do Direito e, também, um setor dedicado às Obras Raras. Este Setor iniciou-se a partir da doação de livros do jurista Professor Ruy Cirne Lima, e hoje possui 356 obras, a mais antiga datando de 1550. Atualmente, as condições de armazenamento da coleção de Obras Raras, foco de estudo deste trabalho, não proporcionam condições para preservação deste acervo, já que o local serve também de depósito de documentos a serem selecionados, encadernados o que reduz a qualidade do meio ambiente para o acervo de Obras Raras. Para apresentar sugestões de um melhor armazenamento dos livros, foram verificados na literatura, as funções das Biblioteca Especializada, que é atender os usuários com necessidades informacionais específicas e relevantes, de acordo com cada área do conhecimento que a biblioteca trabalha; e a Biblioteca Jurídica, que fornece informações pontuais ligadas à área das Ciências Jurídicas aos Magistrados, advogados e público em geral. O papel, com sua história no decorrer dos tempos e o seu uso pelo homem para registrar a informação, como, por exemplo, das tabuletas de argila até o acesso à informação por meio eletrônico.
