Um passeio por caminhos invisíveis: fontes de informação sobre o Bará do Mercado

Abstract

Estudo exploratório que analisa as fontes de informação de um bem cultural de natureza imaterial da cidade de Porto Alegre, o Bará do Mercado. Sob uma ótica cultural e patrimonial, este estudo parte de uma analise histórica e coleta de entrevistas. Analisando os rituais realizados neste espaço pelas religiões de Matriz Africana, com o intuito de reconhecer e destacar costumes e tradições, dos grupos e indivíduos que preservam a Tradição do Bará do Mercado. Este trabalho resgata valores religiosos e de identidade negra da cidade de Porto Alegre, oferecendo com isso subsídios para o cumprimento da Lei 10.639/2003 que torna obrigatórios conteúdos de história e cultura afro-brasileira e africana nos currículos escolares.

An exploratory study that analyzes the sources of information of an intangible cultural good from Porto Alegre city, the Bara from the public Market. From a cultural and heritage point of view this study starts with a historical analysis and data from interviews. Analyzing the rituals performed by religions from an African background in order to recognize and highlight behaviors and traditions from groups and individuals who preserve the tradition of the Bara from the Market. This work rescues religious values and the black identity from Porto Alegre, thus subsidizing it to abide the Law 10.639 / 2003 that makes mandatory African-Brazilian and African culture and history in schools curriculum.
