As unidades I e II correspondem a derrames de lavas ácidas vinculadas a erupções fissurais efusivas. As rochas da unidade III correspondem a domos vulcânicos, enquanto as rochas da unidade IV correspondem, provavelmente a condutos vulcânicos fissurais, sendo associados a extrusão de depósitos efusivos.pt_BR
The Paraná-Etendeka Province (PEP), one of the largest volcanic events on the planet, is associated with extensional tectonics which caused the breakup of Gondwana and the consequent opening of the South Atlantic Ocean, during the Early Cretaceous. Covers the northwestern Namibia in Africa, northern Uruguay, northeastern Argentina, eastern Paraguay and southern Brazil. In Brazil, these rocks are represented by the Serra Geral Formation in Paraná Basin stratigraphy. The magmatism is predominantly basic, with approximately 97.5% of basalts and andesibasalts of tholeiitic affinity. The remaining is represented by silicic rocks which are divided in Palmas type and Chapecó type. The origin of silicic deposits in PEP is still a subject of discussion, the controversy remains about the genesis by lava flows versus pyroclastic flows. In this paper, the studies are focused on geomorphological and structural features identified by remote sensing that can be related to volcanic structures, in the region of Aparados da Serra, comprising the cities of Cambará do Sul, Bom Jesus and São José dos Ausentes. The images of the Landsat-5 satellite provided the basis for tracing the lineaments that compose a data layer within the GIS. Data obtained from the analysis of these images show the predominance of NE-SW direction structures. Among the individualized geomorphological features from the analysis of Google Earth satellite images, it is evident the predominance of circular features with positive relief from the edge to the center and dished top. In the field, these features are represented by hills with convex tops rounded to acute. However, circular features with positive relief from the edge to the center and top flattened, are represented in the field, by hills with straight tops. The linear features are usually represented by elongated bodies. Since circular and linear features have similar characteristics in outcrops, the units were differentiated according to the structures observed in the field. It was possible to prove the occurrence of volcanic systems of the domes and conduits types. The individualized units are formed by dacites, rhyolites and rhyodacites of tholeiitic affinity, and metaluminous character, being attributed to the high-Ti Palmas-type, varying from the Caxias do Sul and Jacuí subtypes. The characteristics of trace elements presented by the samples studied are common in associations derived from mantle source with significant crustal participation. The identified units present lava flows features. The units I and II correspond to silicic lava flows linked to effusive fissural eruptions. The rocks of the unit III correspond to volcanic domes, while the rocks of the unit IV match, probably match with fissural volcanic conduits, being associated with extrusion of effusive deposits.en
