Impacto estético de edifícios altos ao nível da rua

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é avaliar o impacto estético de edifícios altos com diferentes alturas, percebidos ao nível de ruas com distintas larguras por três grupos de respondentes com diferentes níveis e tipos de formação acadêmica. Impactos de edifícios altos na estética urbana podem ser percebidos de diferentes formas pelos usuários do espaço urbano conforme a relação entre a altura desses edifícios e a largura das vias, especialmente quando observados ao nível da rua, onde a cidade é vivenciada pelos transeuntes. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de questionários aplicados via internet para usuários do espaço urbano de Porto Alegre, divididos em três grupos de respondentes: 48 arquitetos; 48 não arquitetos com curso universitário completo e 33 pessoas sem curso universitário concluído ou iniciado. A análise de dados foi realizada através de testes estatísticos não-paramétricos. Os resultados indicam que o impacto estético de edifícios mais altos (18 pavimentos) tende a ser negativo e que tais impactos são afetados pela relação entre as larguras das ruas e as alturas dos edifícios; em vias com menor largura o impacto negativo dos edifícios mais altos é maior do que em vias com uma maior largura.

Aesthetic impact of tall buildings perceived at street level. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the aesthetic impact of tall buildings with different heights perceived at the level of streets with different widths by three groups of respondents with different levels and types of academic training. Impacts of tall buildings in urban aesthetics can be perceived in different ways by the users of urban space according the relationship between the height of the buildings and the width of the streets, especially when observed at street level, where the city is experienced by pedestrians. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed via the Internet to users of urban space in Porto Alegre, divided into three groups of respondents: 58 architects; 56 non-architects college graduates; and 42 noncollege graduates. Data analysis was performed using non-parametric statistical tests. The results indicate that the aesthetic impact of the tallest buildings (18 floors) tends to be negative and that such impacts are affected by the relationship between the widths of the streets and the heights of the buildings; on narrower streets the negative impact of higher buildings is greater than on larger streets
