dc.description.abstractObjetivo: Descrever o perfil dos pacientes atendidos na Bebê Clínica da FO/UFRGS, a partir da análise dos registros de prontuários abertos em consultas iniciais realizadas nos anos de 2006 a 2011. Materiais e Métodos: Análise estatística descritiva dos dados de 569 prontuários com auxílio do software SPSS (versão 17.0), utilizando o Teste Qui-quadrado para a obtenção das porcentagens das variáveis de comparação (p<0,05). Resultados: As faixas etárias mais frequentes foram de 1 a 2 anos de idade (37,1%) e de 2 a 3 anos (33,7%). Em relação a forma de ingresso no programa, as porcentagens foram de 51,5% por livre demanda e 48,5% por encaminhamento, e o principal motivo de consulta foi por prevenção (50,2%). 65,2% dos bebês possuíam dieta cariogênica e 88,6% tinham sua higiene bucal realizada periodicamente. Em relação à atividade de cárie, 54,7% não possuíam atividade, estando essa frequência presente principalmente nas faixas etárias de 0 a 1 ano (96,1%) e de 1 a 2 anos (61,1%). Conclusão: Os bebês, em sua maioria, tinham entre 1 e 3 anos de idade e o principal motivo da consulta foi prevenção. Aproximadamente metade dos pacientes possuía dieta cariogênica e atividade de cárie, apesar de a grande maioria dos responsáveis ter afirmado realizar a higiene dos bebês com escova dental.pt
dc.description.abstractObjective: To describe the profile of patients treated at the FO/UFRGS Baby Clinic, from the analysis of the records open in initial consultations conducted between the years of 2006 and 2011. Materials and Methods: Descriptive statistical analysis of data from 569 charts with SPSS software (version 17.0), using the Chi-square test to obtain the percentages of comparison variables (p <0.05). Results: The age groups that were more prevalent was the 1 to 2 years old (37.1%) and the 2 to 3 years old (33.7%). Regarding the form of entry into the program the percentages were 51.5% for free demand and 48.5% by referral, and the main reason of consultation was for prevention (50.2%). 65.2% of infants had cariogenic diet and 88.6% had their oral hygiene performed periodically. In relation to caries activity, 54.7% had no activity and this frequency was present mainly in the age groups of 0 to 1 year (96.1%) and 1-2 years old (61.1%). Conclusion: Babies were mostly between 1 and 3 years of age and the main reason for the visit was prevention. Approximately half of the patients had cariogenic diet and caries activity, although the majority of responsible had said that performed oral hygiene in the babies and that it was made with toothbrush.en
