A produção científica em psicologia e suas fontes: um estudo preliminar

Abstract

Analisa as referências, através da análise de citações, de 124 teses e dissertações defendidas nos Programas de Pós-graduação em Psicologia (PPGs) da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul no período de 2004 a 2006 depositadas na Biblioteca do Instituto de Psicologia. O objetivo do estudo foi caracterizar as fontes de informação necessárias à produção científica dos discentes dos PPGs buscando informações sobre as variáveis: tipologia dos documentos; idioma; temporalidade; autores citados e título dos periódicos citados. As análises empreendidas foram realizadas com o propósito adicional de testar a metodologia utilizada para a aplicação em investigações futuras. Os dados foram coletados em planilhas do Software Excel. As 11.006 referências analisadas revelaram diferenças entre as fontes de informação utilizadas pelos discentes do PPG em Psicologia do Desenvolvimento em relação àquelas utilizadas pelos discentes do PPG em Psicologia Social. O estudo de citação apresenta-se como uma metodologia eficaz para a caracterização e identificação do comportamento de uso e produção do conhecimento em psicologia na UFRGS.

It analyzes the references by citation analysis of 124 theses and dissertations in the Post-graduate degree in psychology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul from 2004 to 2006 deposited in the Library of the Institute of Psychology. The aim of this study was to characterize the sources of information necessary for the scientific production of PPGs students seeking information about the variables: types of documents, language, temporality, cited authors and titles of journals cited. Also aim of this study was to evaluate the merits of applying the methodology for application in future investigations. Data were collected in Excel spreadsheets software. The 11,006 references analyzed revealed differences between sources of information used by students of the Postgraduate Program in Developmental Psychology in relation to those used by students of the Postgraduate Program in Social Psychology. The study citation is presented as an effective methodology for the characterization and identification of the conduct of search and knowledge production in psychology at UFRGS.
