Dispensação de medicamentos nas farmácias e drogarias de Porto Alegre

Abstract

O objeto desse estudo foi apoiar diferenças entre o comportamento de farmacêuticos e balconistas de farmácias quando um paciente recorre a estes estabelecimentos buscando informações sobre o uso de medicamentos. O levantamento de dados foi realizado por um estudante que chegava às farmácias relatando um caso de diarréia e solicitando orientação. 95% dos farmacêuticos e todos os balconistas prescreveram medicamentos sem indicar a procura de orientação médica. As perguntas realizadas pelos mesmos, bem como as classes terapêuticas “prescritas” são mostradas. Essencialmente nenhuma diferença foi encontrada entre o comportamento de farmacêuticos e balconistas.

The goal of this study was to appraise differences between the behavior of pharmacists and drugstore attendants toward patients that asked, at the counter of the drugstore advice concerning the use of medicines. The survey was carried by pharmacy students, arriving at the pharmacy, reporting a case of diarrhoea and asking for a treatment. 95% of pharmacists and all attendants prescribed medicines without directing the client to medical care. The questions asked and the therapeutic classes “prescribed” are shown. Essentially no difference was found between the behavior of pharmacists and drug store attendants.
