Oculatus abis

Abstract

Na realização deste trabalho, uni minha prática tanto do desenho como do design. Optei por trabalhar com Oculatus Abis , expressão em latim que aparece na última gravura do livro Mutus Liber (1677), um dos mais populares sobre a obra alquímica, que significa em sua tradução literal "o que vê bem deriva dele". A frase em conjunto com a iluminura contribui para entender que aquele que passa pelo processo alquímico adquire olhos, vê melhor, alcança a clarividência que o fim da obra alquímica concede. Através desta temática, apresento desenhos realizados primeiramente em nanquim, depois digitalizados, vetorizados, editados e, em alguns casos, pintados com o auxílio de softwares e posteriormente impressos sobre papel. Apresento também a transformação desses trabalhos artísticos em produtos de design com a aplicação dos mesmos em estampas.

In the accomplishment of this work I have gathered my practice of both, drawing and design. I chose to work with Oculatus Abis, a Latin expression that appears in the last illustration of the book Mutus Liber (1677), one of the most popular on the alchemical work, which means in its literal translation "the one who sees well derives from it." The phrase together with the illumination helps to understand that the one who passes through the alchemical process acquired eyes, sees better, attains the clairvoyance that the end of the alchemical work grants. Through this theme I present drawings made first with nankin ink, then digitized, vectorized, edited and, in some cases, painted with the help of softwares and later printed on paper. I also present the transformation of these artistic works into design products with the application of them in prints as stamps.
