This study analyze the representations of femininity in the 12 editions of ELLE magazine in 2008. As theoretical contribution were used for Cultural Studies and Gender on approach to post-structuralist perspective. The images chosen for the survey, stood out by associate the possible femininities whit analytic concepts. Gender is understood here as the possible ways of being a woman or a man, the various possibilities of experiences of femininity and masculinity, which are changeable in their social and cultural aspects. Here the media is seen as a cultural pedagogy that helps to establish truth and produce subjectivities, teaching ways to be a woman. I tried to observe the evolution of language in fashion magazines to think about the construction of femininity and also in social relations between women and men. The record of the representations of the clothing and the construction of femininity and masculinity are presented as inseparable. The insertion in one easy consumerism, disposable while the applicant is inexhaustible and comes as a call almost “impossible” to be rejected by readers. Attention in relation to clothing and care of itself is produced as a practical construction of the female since childhood. ELLE magazine has heterosexuality as a practice naturalized, which is considered normal. The themes highlighted in the magazines analyzed stimulate consumming and emphasize the fixedness gender.en
