A norma considerada é o WiMAX.
In this work, a theoretical analysis and further performances evaluation of cooperative relaying techniques are presented. The cellular WiMAX standard based on the OFDM waveform is considered. The request in term of cell rate in such wireless broadband cellular systems is still growing. To answer, the operators can increase the number of base stations (BS) but this solution has reached its limits. Then, the radios relays may be an alternative. They allow an increase in the range of the cellule and in the SNR anywhere inside the cell. Some cooperative relaying techniques are considered. A cooperative relay works in two distinct phases. Firstly, it stores the received signal from the BS and then it retransmits with a certain amplification factor. The techniques Simple Relaying and Temporal MRC are the simplest ones; hence they don’t need any additional coding scheme in the source. In spite of the low complexity, these techniques have good performance if the terminal is fixe. The whole system including the BS and the relay can be compared to a virtual MIMO system. The difference is that the multiple transmission antennas are separated by a much bigger distance than the antennas in a classical MIMO system. Therefore, a distributed spacetime (ST) coding scheme adapted to these systems can be developed to exploit the channel diversity. Many contributions can be found in the literature. In this project, cooperative relaying techniques based in the Alamouti ST code and in the Golden Code are presented. The Alamouti Code is optimal from a diversity order point of view if we consider two transmission antennas. On the other hand, the Golden Code can achieve the best diversitymultiplexing tradeoff of the ST codes. Simulations show a good performance of these techniques in the case of a Rayleigh fading channel.en
