This work aims to make an analysis of textual interpretation in textbooks, having as guiding bases 1) the way questions explore inferential processes motivated by the text and 2) the way they could contribute to school practices that promote further thinking of the students. In order to make this analysis, I searched about the inferential processes used in human communication, prioritizing the implicature. I studied the Implicature Theory, created by the philosopher Paul Grice in the half of the twentieth century; I used contributions from Stephen Levinson and George Yule, who worked with implicatures too; and I also examined the Relevance Theory, from Sperber and Wilson, which analyzes the same phenomenon in a different perspective. Besides, I relied on the ideias of the document Referencial Curricular Lições do Rio Grande (RIO GRANDE DO SUL, 2009, volume 1), a just released project which considers teaching as an interactive process and points out strategies that promote the development of learning ability and the intellectual autonomy of the students.en
