Algeplan, Álgebra e Geometria : entendendo práticas matemáticas como jogos de linguagem

Abstract

A problemática da iniciação à Álgebra no Ensino Fundamental tem chamado a atenção de professores e pesquisadores da Educação Matemática. O material manipulativo Algeplan foi criado com o objetivo de possibilitar uma melhora no ensino da Álgebra, através de relações com a Geometria. Sob a lente teórica do filósofo Ludwig Wittgenstein e suas considerações sobre a linguagem e a constituição dos sentidos, é possível pensar que as práticas matemáticas constituem jogos de linguagem, cada um com uma série de regras a serem seguidas. Dessa forma, consideramos também o Algeplan como um jogo de linguagem, no qual podemos identificar apenas semelhanças de família com a Álgebra e a Geometria.

The issue of initiation to Algebra in elementary school has attracted the attention of teachers and researchers in Mathematics education. The manipulative game Algeplan was created with the goal of enabling an improvement in the Algebra’s teaching through Geometry relations. Under the theoretical lens of the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein and his remarks on language and the sense’s constitution, one might think that mathematical practices are language games, each with a series of rules to follow. Thus, we consider also the Algeplan as a language game in which we can identify only family similarities with Algebra and Geometry.
