O caso de Alex na obra fílmica XXY : uma análise de corpo, gênero e sexualidade no cinema argentino

Abstract

O cinema, desde seu surgimento, vem até seus consumidores elaborar novos imaginários, (des)legitimar estilos de vida, (des)construir identidades. O Filme XXY mostra a história de uma jovem adolescente hermafrodita, assunto que provocou o surgimento de inúmeras questões durante esta pesquisa; questões que vão desde a análise da inserção da figura feminina no cinema, dos estudos sobre gênero e sexualidade, as fronteiras entre feminilidade e masculinidade, a questão da identidade sexual, até os impactos que a jovem enfrenta, devido a sua condição biológica na sociedade. Em 2007, é lançado o filme XXY, dirigido pela argentina Lucía Puenzo. A história trata de um romance fictício, entre Alex (interpretada pela jovem atriz Inés Efron) e um adolescente. Todo esse romance coexiste com o drama que passa a jovem com uma doença genética fazendo com que ela possua características dos dois sexos. Um médico vai visitar a família de Alex, devido ao quadro que ela se encontra e por se recusar a tomar os hormônios, estes que inibem a masculinização do seu corpo por completo. O médico leva consigo seu filho, um jovem que logo desperta uma relação de afeto e amizade com Alex. A partir de então a protagonista passa uma jornada em busca de vivência e autoconhecimento, a fim de tomar uma decisão sobre seu corpo e tendo que assumir uma identidade, que será descoberta no final da história. De um lado da relação está um adolescente com o corpo masculino e de outro, temos Alex, uma adolescente que na película não é explicitamente desvendada, somente após uma leitura sobre o filme poderá ser identificado que a jovem é hermafrodita.

The cinema, since its emergence, comes to its consumers to elaborate new imaginaries, (de) legitimate lifestyles, (de) construct identities. The Movie XXY shows the history of a young hermaphrodite adolescent, subject that caused the beginning of numerous questions during this research; questions that comes since the analysis of the insertion of the feminine figure in the cinema, from the studies of gender and sexuality, the borders between femininity and masculinity, the question about the sexual identity, until the impacts that the young faces, due to her biological condition in society. On 2007, the movie XXY is released, directed by the argentine Lucía Puenzo. The history is about a fictional romance, between Alex (played by the young actress Inés Efron) and an adolescent. All this romance coexists with the drama that passes with a young and a genetic illness in which does that she get characteristics from both genders. A doctor come to see Alex’s family, due to the condition that she’s been and because she refuses to take the hormones, these that inhibit the masculinisation of her body. The doctor takes with him his son, a young that soon awake a relationship of affection and love with Alex. From then the protagonist passes a journey in search of experience and selfknowledge, in order to make a decision about her body and having to assume an identity, which will be discovered by the end of the history. From one side of the relation is an adolescent with a masculine body and from the other, we have Alex, an adolescent that in the movie isn’t explicitly unveiled, only after a reading about the movie will be identified that the young is hermaphrodite.
