Recortes de um projeto de docência : possíveis (re)leituras do mito do duplo na literatura

Abstract

Este trabalho pretende traçar um panorama sobre o mito do duplo em diferentes campos teóricos, sobretudo na literatura, no intuito de observar, ao final, como esse mito se apresenta na sociedade de hoje, tempo que Zygmunt Bauman (2004) denomina de modernidade líquida. Por representar mais do que um mito, um arquétipo e/ou um símbolo, o conceito de duplo, para muitos, é de difícil apreensão; possui referências visivelmente antropológicas, estando estreitamente vinculado à questão da identidade. Deste modo, objetiva-se verificar se o mito ainda se atualiza e de que forma isso ocorre. Como objeto literário, há um leque de obras clássicas de diferentes países a serem comentadas, bem como textos recentes que podem ilustrar a reconfiguração do tema. Ademais, a temática da duplicidade é elucidada por meio de atividades que foram propostas em um projeto de docência, – com uma turma de 1° ano do Ensino Médio –, em que o duplo pôde ser visualizado em um filme e em três contos da literatura brasileira. O projeto fez com que os alunos deslizassem a ideia de sujeito cindido para um plano tecnológico, em que o homem está dividido entre o real e o virtual. Essa nova perspectiva pós-humanística para o duplo é explorada brevemente aqui a partir do estudo da distopia em uma ramificação da ficção científica – o cyberpunk –, em oposição à utopia característica da ficção fantástica. Portanto, ao longo deste estudo, pudemos confirmar que a sensação de constante atualização do mito através dos séculos é autêntica, seja na literatura ou mesmo fora dela.

This paper offers an overview about the double in different fields, especially in literature, in order to observe, in the end, how this myth appears in today's society, time that Zygmunt Bauman (2004) calls liquid modernity. Comprising more than a myth, an archetype and/or a symbol, the double’s concept is too difficult to grasp sometimes; it clearly has anthropological references and it is closely linked to the issue of identity. Thus, the aim is to verify if the myth still updates and how this occurs. As literary object, duplicity is commented in a range of classics from different countries – as well as recent texts that can illustrate the reconfiguration of the subject. Moreover, the theme of duplicity is elucidated through activities that were proposed in a teaching project – with a group of High School Freshmen – in which the double could be visualized in a movie and in three Brazilian short stories. The project helped the students to slide the idea of split man to a technological view, in which the man is divided between the real and the virtual. This new post-humanistic perspective of the double is briefly explored here with the study of dystopia in a branch of science fiction – cyberpunk – as opposed to the fantasy fiction's utopian feature. Therefore, throughout this study, I could confirm that the sensation of constant updating of the myth through the centuries is authentic, whether in literature or even beyond.
