A aquicultura moderna envolve três componentes: a produção lucrativa, a preservação do meio ambiente e o desenvolvimento social (VALENTI, 2002). (PAZ; DE LUCA; SINMA, 2005).pt_BR

Recirculation is a cultivation technique in which the water after passing through the production tanks goes to the treatment of mechanical and biological filters, returning to the system (CREPALDI et al., 2006). The only new water that enters in the system is the water needed to restore the amount that is lost during the treatment processes and evaporation. These losses should be around 5% of the total system volume per day (CREPALDI et al., 2006). By recirculating aquaculture systems to enable greater productivity while have an higher operation costs and installation when compared to other cropping systems. (PAZ; DE LUCA; SINMA., 2005).en
