Diagnóstico de fluxo de informação : o caso da biblioteca do Centro de Informação Toxicológica do Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

Estudo de caso que tem por objetivo realizar diagnóstico do fluxo de informação na Biblioteca do Centro de Informação Toxicológica do Rio Grande do Sul. A análise é feita tendo como base conceitos da Gestão do Conhecimento, Fluxo de Informação e Fontes de Informação. Apresenta modelos de fluxo de informação e faz uso do modelo proposto por Beal (2008). Modelo este, cujas etapas são: identificação das necessidades e requisitos, obtenção, tratamento, distribuição, uso, armazenamento, descarte. Utiliza como instrumento de coleta de dados uma entrevista com a bibliotecária responsável pela sistematização da informação na biblioteca, realiza a análise documental por meio das Instruções de Trabalho utilizadas na biblioteca e observação da rotina de trabalhos. Conclui que foi possível verificar e explorar todas as etapas do fluxo de informação utilizado. Sugere que seja desenvolvido trabalho da mesma natureza em Centro de Informação que não tenha biblioteca a fim de verificar como se dá o fluxo de informação, constata que seja interessante à instituição ter um repositório institucional para que a produção intelectual dos técnicos esteja reunida e acessível.

It’s a study case which has as objective to realize the diagnosis of the flux of information in the Library of the Toxicology Information Center of Rio Grande do Sul. The analysis is made based on Knowledge Management concepts, Information Flux and Information Sources. It presents models of flux of information and it makes use of the model proposed by Beal (2008). It’s a model in which the following steps are: identification of necessities and requirements, obtainment, treatment, distribution, use, storage, discard. The data collection is done through an interview with the librarian who is responsible for the information systematization in the library, documental analysis by the Work Instructions used in the library and observation of the works routines. The conclusion is that it was possible to check and explore all the information flux steps used and diagnose the information flux as proposed. It suggests development work of the same nature in Information Center that there is no library to check how is done the information flux, and it is interesting for the institution to have an institutional repository so that the technician intellectual production becomes more accessible.
