This paper proposes a two-dimensional numerical study in order to optimize the geometry of a wave energy converter into electrical energy of oscillating water column type (OWC), based on Constructal Design method. For the application of this method, a goal, degrees of freedom and geometrical restrictions are required. In this proposal, there was the aim of optimizing the ratio between the height (H ) and length (L) of the OWC device chamber, to increase the utilization of the incident wave power. The degree of freedom H1/L was varied, while the degree of freedom H2/l (ratio between the height and the length of the device chimney) was kept fixed. The area of the OWC device chamber ( ) and the total area of the OWC device ( ) were kept constant, constituting the restrictions of the problem. The modeling of the computational domain (chamber and wave tank) was performed in the software GAMBIT ®, and numerical simulations were performed with a commercial computational fluid dynamics code, FLUENT®, based on the Finite Volume Method (FVM). In the analysis of air-water interaction, the multiphase model Volume of Fluid (VOF) was applied. It is possible, therefore, to analyze the converter subjected to regular wave incidence. For comparison purposes, nine different cases were analyzed. The best case was verified when the ratio H1/L had the value of 0.7 and mass flow had the value of 0.33485 kg/s. In this configuration, the device presented the parameters H1 and L values of 0.3130m and 0.4472m respectively. Another remarkable aspect in the cases which were analyzed was the verification that the ideal length for an OWC device was located in the range of 30 to 50% of the incident wave length.en
