Por uma poética ética : (re)construções do sofrimento feminino no discurso narrativo de 'Sinfonia em Branco' e 'Lavoura Arcaica'

Abstract

Vivemos em um tempo de barbárie construído sobre as ruínas de todas as guerras e massacres do século XX. Somos confrontados diariamente com notícias de uma violência que se apresenta socialmente de forma quase epidêmica sobre as mulheres. Portanto, diante da urgência desse cenário, proponho uma reflexão sobre a possibilidade da literatura em articular uma resposta ética à essa violência. A análise comparatista dos romances brasileiros Sinfonia em Branco, de Adriana Lisboa, e Lavoura Arcaica, de Raduan Nassar, é a base para uma minha investigação sobre a responsabilidade do agenciamento narrativo na elaboração estética do sofrimento das personagens femininos nos romances. Para essa proposta, foram articuladas o estudo sobre a resposta afetiva da leitura defendidas por Marina Barbosa Almeida, o conceito de alteridade de Emanuel Lévinas e as discussões sobre luto e desrealização feitas por Butler para fundamentar uma ética narrativa baseada na interpelação do leitor pelo sofrimento do Outro, resgatando – e, restituindo criticamente - o papel humanizante fundamental da literatura. Como conclusão, dou destaque ao modo como diferentes estratégias narrativas de reconhecimento e desrealização revelam uma relação ética ou perversa do leitor com a alteridade das personagens femininas vitimadas.

We live in a time of barbarism built on the ruins of all the wars and massacres of the the 20th century. We are confronted daily with news of a violence that has socially almost epidemic to women. Therefore, given the urgency of this scenario, I propose a reflection on the possibility that literature may articulate an ethical response to this violence. The comparative analysis of Adriana Lisboa’s Sinfonia em Branco and Raduan Nassar’s Lavoura Arcaica is the ground of my investigation on the responsibility of narrative agency in the aesthetic formulation of pain and suffering in the female characters of these Brazilian novels. For this proposal was articulated the studies of Marina Barbosa Almeida regarding the affective response of the reader, Emmanuel Lévinas’ conception of Otherness, and Judith Butler’s notions of mourning and derealization in order to think over the ethics established on the reader’s addressings relating the suffering of the Other, rescuing - and restoring critically – literature in its humanizing core role. The aftermath of this study highlights the way in which different narrative recognition and derealization strategies may reveal either an ethical or a perverse relation with the reader and the Otherness of the victimized female characters.
