Três episódios de descoberta científica : da caricatura empirista a uma outra história

Abstract

Examina-se o papel da experimentação na gênese de conhecimentos relativos a três episódios da descoberta científica: a física de Galileu, a teoria da relatividade restrita e o modelo atômico de Bohr. A insuficiência da epistemologia empirista na abordagem desses conteúdos é evidenciada pelo contraste entre a história empirista e uma outra história, muito mais rica, dinâmica e complexa. Do ponto de vista didático, a filosofia da ciência contemporânea abre novas e ainda pouco exploradas vias para um melhor entendimento da ciência e dos processos de construção do conhecimento científico.

The hole of experimentation in the genesis of knowledge concerning three episodes of the scientific discovery is examined: Galileu s physics, special theory of relativity and Bohr s atomic model. The insufficiency of the empiricist epistemology in the approach of these contents is showed by doing a contrast between the empiricist history and another history much richer, dynamic and complex. In didactic terms , the contemporary philosophy of science opens new and still not explored roads for a better understanding of Science and the processes of construction of the scientific knowledge.
