Do Museu à Cidade Imperial: representações da cidade de Petrópolis no material educativo Almanaque de Petrópolis - uma jornada de descobertas pelo passado e presente da Cidade Imperial (2008), do Museu Imperial, Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

O presente trabalho de conclusão do Curso de Museologia buscou analisar, a partir do primeiro volume do material educativo impresso, lançado em 2008, do Museu Imperial intitulado “Almanaque de Petrópolis - Uma jornada de descobertas pelo passado e presente da Cidade Imperial”, a relação que a instituição estabelece entre si e a Cidade de Petrópolis/RJ, bem como este a apresenta ao leitor. Para que a análise pudesse ser iniciada foi necessário contextualizar a relação de afeto da Família Imperial com a região inicialmente chamada de Fazenda do Córrego Seco, com a formação de Petrópolis, o desejo de ali construir o Palácio Imperial e a transformação deste no atual Museu. Também foram analisados os projetos educativos mais recentes oferecidos pelo Setor de Educação da instituição, especialmente ao público escolar. Para obter maiores informações sobre as razões e os anseios que levaram a equipe do Museu a elaborar o Almanaque de Petrópolis, em especial seu primeiro volume, foi elaborada uma entrevista para Regina Helena de Castro Resende, chefe do Setor de Educação e uma das autoras dos três volumes que, atualmente, encontram-se disponíveis para consulta no site institucional do Museu Imperial.

This final work of the course of Museology seeks to analyze, from the first volume of the printed educational material, released in 2008, of the Imperial Museum, entitled "Almanac of Petropolis - A journey of discoveries through the past and present of the Imperial City", the relationship that the institution establishes between itself and the City of Petrópolis / RJ, and how this institution presents it to the reader. For the beginning of the analysis, it was necessary to contextualize the relationship of affection between the Imperial Family and the region, initially called the Córrego Seco Farm, with the formation of Petropolis, the desire to build there the Imperial Palace and the transformation of it into the current Museum. Also, the most recent educational projects offered especially to the public school by the Department of Education of the institution were analyzed. In order to obtain more information about the reasons and concerns that led the team of the Museum to develop the Museum's Almanac of Petrópolis, especially its first volume, an interview was carried out with Regina Helena de Castro Resende, head of the Department of Education and one of the authors of the three volumes that currently are available for consultation on the site of the Imperial Museum.
