The Citrus sp. genus stands out in the international scenario since it is the source of essential oils. In these oils, the limonene appears as one of the most important components due to its numerous reported properties. The aim of this study was to validate an analytical method for the quantification of limonene through the GC/FID and after application in samples of this oil. The method showed linearity with R²= 0,9979, precision, accuracy, robustness and selectivity. Samples of the C. aurantium Lineu specie showed limonene content of 36,6% and 2,3%, while the ones C. reticulata Blanco species were of 88,2% and 43,4%.en
