Grêmio Esportivo Força e Luz : futebol, trabalho, e história

Abstract

A criação de clubes de futebol de trabalhadores nas empresas é um fenômeno que se identificou na cidade de Porto Alegre/RS no início da década de 1920. O objetivo da pesquisa é reconstruir a trajetória do Grêmio Esportivo Força e Luz, uma associação de futebolistas que reunia os trabalhadores da empresa Companhia Força e Luz Porto-Alegrense, dos anos 1920 aos anos 1950, quando a empresa encerrou suas atividades. Foram analisadas as seguintes fontes impressas: revista comemorativa de 79 anos do clube, edições do Almanaque Esportivo do RS e reportagens de jornais. Além de uma revisão bibliográfica em livros e artigos sobre o futebol no RS. Observa-se que o futebol, desde o princípio do século XX, ao mesmo tempo em que era um esporte restrito aos clubes sociais, significou uma conquista dos trabalhadores no cenário esportivo estadual, com a organização do “Força e Luz”.

The creation employees’ soccer clubs on the companies is a phenomenon that was identified in the Porto Alegre city RS state in the beginning of 1920s. The objective of the research is to reconstruct the “Grêmio Esportivo Força e Luz” trajectory, a soccer association that was bring together the “Companhia Força e Luz Porto-Alegrense” in the twenties until de fifties, when the company ended his business. It was analyzed this printed sources: a journal commemorating the club 79 anniversary; “Almanaque Esportivo do RS” issues; news reports of the newspapers, besides a literature review in books and articles about soccer in RS. It is noted that soccer, since the twenty century begining, in the same time was a sport restrict in the social clubs, means a victory of the employees in the state sport scene with the Força e Luz creation.
