The Science education/Chemistry of the approach Science-Technology-Society and Environment (STSE) should allow the student be making the link between the scientific content and the reality, so that he understands how the science and technology is influencing the society and then take a critical, reflective and participatory posture. The science communication is a necessity not only the scientific community as public at large, citizens, for which this knowledge is useful to a better understanding of everyday situations, assisting in their decision making, according to the objectives of scientific literacy. Considering the two areas, STSE and scientific dissemination, the purpose of the research was to understand the effects of sense of science and technology, from the issue of energy production, built in magazines of general information, with a view to scientific literacy. For analysis of the senses were chosen the largest circulation magazine in the country: Veja, Época, Isto É and Carta Capital. Data collection for the construction of corpus occurred in the first half of 2012, when environmental issues - including power generation - could be found in proximity of the function of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20, held in June of that year in Brazil. The theme of the analysis was chosen because it is one of the biggest challenges of the global society, because power generation is the critical point for the pursuit of development and the general welfare of the people around the world. The analysis was based on the concepts and notions of discourse analysis (AD) of the French line, especially with Pêcheux, considered its main exponent, and Eni Orlandi, one of the largest fueling the theories of discourse in Brazil. The dissertation shows the speech function from indications meaning effects of such discourses. In the specific case of this study, we used a critique of authors of the teaching of science, as António Cachapuz, Daniel Gil-Pérez, Anna Maria Pessoa de Carvalho, João Beach and Amparo Vilches, from some distorted views of science and technology presented by these authors to identify the meanings given to science and technology on energy production. The senses were found on Science and Technology: decontextualized; individualistic and elitist; empirical-inductive the atheoretical; rigid, algorithmic and infallible; a problematic, ahistorical, and finished dogmatic; exclusively analytical; and cumulative, linear growth. After the analysis, it makes explicit the challenging role of science teacher should, to submit a news story to students, recognize the existence of such senses and is therefore fundamental preparing the educator to the deconstruction of these, seeking review of silences and unspoken for a better understanding of the topic.en
