The present work aims at identifying the presence of turbulence-radiation interactions (TRI) in an internal non reactive flow scenario. A mixture of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water, with fixed proportions and with a temperature of 1200K flows through a rectangular duct, whose walls are kept at 400K and exchange heat with the mixture. The models studied comprised two different turbulence models, one RANS (k − ! SST) and the other LES (dynamic Smagorinsky), both with and without radiative model. The spectral model used was that of the gray gas. The obtained results concerning TRI were inconclusive, since the relative difference between the purely convective flow was considered too significant. That suggests the need for calibration and validation of the turbulence models. However, for each of the turbulence models it could be observed that the dominant heat exchange method was thermal radiation, making a radiative model indispensable for the calculations presented hereen
