Concepções de estudantes do ensino médio sobre tabela periódica

Abstract

O Objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar as concepções mais recorrentes dos estudantes sobre Tabela Periódica ao longo do Ensino Médio. Para isso, os dados foram coletados por intermédio de um instrumento contendo 27 afirmações organizadas em três categorias, aplicado a 135 estudantes de uma escola pública de um município do interior do estado do RS. As afirmações desse instrumento foram avaliadas por meio da escala de Likert e do nível de certeza dos estudantes ao analisá-las. Os dados obtidos foram avaliados por meio de métodos estatísticos descritivos (análise univariada). Dentre as concepções detectadas, destacam-se algumas ideias alternativas sobre a construção histórica da Tabela Periódica e a necessidade de decorar este instrumento. Apesar disso, percebeu-se que os estudantes reconhecem sua importância para o estudo da Química, bem como a função desse instrumento em fornecer dados importantes.

The aim of this paper was to identify the most recurrent conceptions of students about the Periodic Table during High School. For this, the data were collected through an instrument containing 27 statements organized into three categories, that it was applied to 135 students of a public school of a city of the interior of the state of RS. The statements of this instrument were evaluated through the Likert scale and the level of certainty of the students when analyzing them. The data were evaluated by means of descriptive statistical methods (univariate analysis). Among the detected concepts, some alternative ideas about the historical construction of the Periodic Table and the need to decorate this instrument stand out. Despite this, it was realized that the students recognize its importance for the study of Chemistry, as well as the function of this instrument in providing important data.
