O papel da educação no processo de socialização : conflito entre a escola e o trabalho

Abstract

Análise de algumas idéias da teoria de Bernstein relacionadas com o processo de socialização no sistema social. A tendência do sistema social determina o papel da família, da escola e do trabalho. O estudo tem por objetivo discutir o papel da escola nesse processo, já que a escola é considerada como tendo um propósito complexo relacionado ao desenvolvimento da imaginação em um contexto livre. Nesse caso, é importante estar consciente das dificuldades encontradas na tentativa de emparelhar escola e trabalho, uma vez que a escola não tem somente a funçao de preparar mão-de-obra.

This paper reviews and discusses some ideas from Bernstein's work, which deals with socialization process. The social system can affect the role of famiIy, school, and work. According to the trends of the social system, the socialization process takes place in the family, school, and at work. On the hand, these institutions can bring about a change in the social system by the development of the scialization process. The objective of this paper is to survey the school's role in this process, that is, the school has complex purposes like the development of imaginative and free contexts. In this case it is important to be aware of the difficulty in matching school and work, since school does not only have the purpose of preparing the workers to work.
